Eleanor Forger  Cooper
Eleanor Forger Cooper, 83, of Solvay, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2006 at Community-General Hospital after a long, courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Syracuse on Saturday, June 9, 1923, she was the daughter of Garrison Forger and Grace Thompson. She grew up in Solvay and graduated from Solvay High School.

Eleanor worked for the Telephone Company during World War II in Geneva, NY, returning to the Syracuse area in 1955. She was also employed by GTE Sylvania and was a former communicant of St. Cecilia's Church and St. Joseph's Church.

Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Paul, in 1988, daughter, Lynne Cooper Case, in 2000 and sister, Arleta Blowers, in 1985.

Surviving are her daughter, Caryl Cooper of Camillus; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Agnes Forger of Solvay; sisters and brothers-in-law, Arlene and Frank Jerome of Solvay, Delores and Joseph Fedrizzi of Solvay and Marilyn Forger of Ann Arbor, Michigan; granddaughters, Lisa (Paul) Roy of Liverpool, Margaret (Ken) Rellos and Natalie (Charles) Lacey, both of Baldwinsville; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and her dear friend, Jane Kenyon of Delmar.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Jeffrey Kirshner whose care and treatment extended her life by many years.
Services will be at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Golisano Children's Hospital, c/o University Hospital, 750 E. Adams St., Syracuse, NY, 13210 or to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St., P.O. Box 7, E. Syracuse, NY 13057.
