Samuel J.  Palumbo
Samuel J. Palumbo, 77, of the village of Camillus, died Aug. 2, 2006 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Born on Friday, November 9, 1928, he was the son of Rocco Palumbo and Josephine Panarese. A lifetime resident of the village of Camillus, he was a veteran of World War II. Sam was employed for approximately 20 years by Frazer & Jones Co. and was formerly employed by Mike & Nate's. Sam was a communicant of St. Joseph´s Church. He enjoyed working on his cars, off-track betting and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, the former Joyce Vroman; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Gary Moyer of Solvay and Judy and Jerome LaGrow of Liverpool; sisters, Jenny Cretaro of Minoa and Anna Mallore of Warners; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, including Quentin and Justine Young and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2006 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Thursday, August 3, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.

Contributions may be made to the University Dialysis Center, 1127 East Genesee St., Syracuse, NY 13210.
